Under det senaste m\u00f6tet i regeringskonferensen (CIG) \u00e5tog sig de tv\u00e5 l\u00e4nderna gemensamt att fr\u00e4mja den l\u00e4nge diskuterade h\u00f6ghastighetsj\u00e4rnv\u00e4gsf\u00f6rbindelsen och \u00e5teruppta den avst\u00e4ngda godstrafiken p\u00e5 j\u00e4rnv\u00e4gsmotorv\u00e4gen (Afa) genom Fr\u00e9jus-tunneln. Avtalet markerar en viktig milstolpe i utvecklingen av ett av Europas st\u00f6rsta infrastrukturprojekt. CIG:s beslut \u00e5terspeglar tv\u00e5 parallella prioriteringar: att slutf\u00f6ra den administrativa processen f\u00f6r hela det gr\u00e4ns\u00f6verskridande projektet och att hantera kortsiktig logistik genom att \u00e5teruppliva intermodala godstransporter p\u00e5 j\u00e4rnv\u00e4g. Godk\u00e4nnandet av genomf\u00f6randebeslutet, som nu skickas till EU-kommissionen, avslutar i praktiken de nationella f\u00f6rfarandena i b\u00e5de Italien och Frankrike och f\u00f6r projektet in i den slutliga bed\u00f6mningsfasen p\u00e5 EU-niv\u00e5.    <\/p>\n<p>Enligt Paolo Foietta, ordf\u00f6rande f\u00f6r CIG, \u201c\u00e4r detta steg grundl\u00e4ggande f\u00f6r EU:s framtida medfinansiering av hela arbetet, inklusive de nationella str\u00e4ckorna och nu \u00e4ven de urbana noderna i Turin och Lyon.\u201d Genomf\u00f6randebeslutet fullbordar en process som inleddes 2020 och g\u00f6r det m\u00f6jligt att fullt ut erk\u00e4nna projektet som en del av Europas centrala transportn\u00e4tverk. P\u00e5 byggfronten forts\u00e4tter arbetet med bastunneln mellan Italien och Frankrike att g\u00e5 stadigt fram\u00e5t. F\u00f6r n\u00e4rvarande har 26% av de totalt 160 kilometerna tunnlar gr\u00e4vts ut. Maurizio Bufalini, st\u00e4llf\u00f6retr\u00e4dande generaldirekt\u00f6r f\u00f6r TELT (Tunnel Euralpin Lyon Turin), rapporterade att den f\u00f6rsta av sju tunnelborrmaskiner, \u201cViviana\u201d, har anl\u00e4nt till Saint-Martin-la-Porte och ska enligt planerna b\u00f6rja arbeta i september.
