Enligt den senaste publicerade statistiken har \u00e5rets sommars\u00e4song p\u00e5 Cypern inletts med ett l\u00e4gre antal bes\u00f6kare. Denna utveckling b\u00f6r vara anledning till allvarlig oro bland ber\u00f6rda myndigheter och statliga organ. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Turismen \u00e4r ju trots allt fortfarande en av de viktigaste pelarna i den cypriotiska ekonomin.<\/p>\n

Enligt siffror som offentliggjorts av Cyperns statistikbyr\u00e5 minskade antalet turister i juni 2026 med 1,7 % och uppgick till 489 965, j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med 498 527 i juni 2025.<\/p>\n

Samtidigt noterades under f\u00f6rsta halv\u00e5ret (januari\u2013juni 2026) en betydande minskning av antalet turister med 10,1 %, vilket motsvarade totalt 1 656 015 j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med 1 843 013 under motsvarande period 2025.<\/p>\n

Det \u00e4r dock v\u00e4rt att notera att den drivande kraften bakom Cyperns turistn\u00e4ring fortsatt var bes\u00f6kare fr\u00e5n Storbritannien och Israel, som \u00e5terigen stod f\u00f6r den st\u00f6rsta andelen av de turister som bes\u00f6kte \u00f6n.<\/p>\n

N\u00e4rmare best\u00e4mt utgjorde bes\u00f6kare fr\u00e5n Storbritannien 33,0 % (161 913) av det totala antalet turister. D\u00e4refter f\u00f6ljde bes\u00f6kare fr\u00e5n Israel med 16,4 % (80 343), Polen med 7,3 % (35 871), Sverige med 5,5 % (26 884) och Tyskland med 4,4 % (21 587). <\/p>\n

\u00c4ven int\u00e4kterna fr\u00e5n turismen minskar<\/strong><\/p>\n

Som v\u00e4ntat f\u00f6ljdes nedg\u00e5ngen i antalet turister av l\u00e4gre int\u00e4kter fr\u00e5n turismen.<\/p>\n

Enligt de senaste offentliggjorda siffrorna uppgick int\u00e4kterna fr\u00e5n turismen i maj 2026 till 355,2 miljoner euro, vilket motsvarar en minskning med 4,8 % j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med maj 2025, d\u00e5 int\u00e4kterna uppgick till 373,3 miljoner euro.<\/p>\n

Under \u00e5rets f\u00f6rsta fem m\u00e5nader (januari\u2013maj 2026) uppgick int\u00e4kterna fr\u00e5n turismen till 798,2 miljoner euro, j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med 955,8 miljoner euro under samma period 2025 \u2013 en minskning med 16,5 %. Detta \u00e4r en nedg\u00e5ng som verkligen inte kan f\u00f6rbises. <\/p>\n

Vem spenderar och hur mycket?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Turisternas genomsnittliga utgifter per person uppgick i maj 2026 till 779,42 euro, vilket var praktiskt taget of\u00f6r\u00e4ndrat j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med maj 2025 (779,08 euro).<\/p>\n

Mer specifikt spenderade turister fr\u00e5n Storbritannien \u2013 \u00f6ns st\u00f6rsta turistmarknad \u2013 i genomsnitt 102,23 euro per dag. Israeliska turister, den n\u00e4st st\u00f6rsta marknaden, spenderade i genomsnitt 178,18 euro per dag, medan polska turister, den tredje st\u00f6rsta marknaden, spenderade 85,41 euro per dag. <\/p>\n

Varf\u00f6r turister bes\u00f6ker Cypern<\/strong><\/p>\n

En annan viktig aspekt som \u00e4r v\u00e4rd att lyfta fram \u00e4r syftet med turisternas bes\u00f6k p\u00e5 Cypern.<\/p>\n

81,6 % reste f\u00f6r semester och fritid.
\n11,3 % bes\u00f6kte v\u00e4nner eller sl\u00e4ktingar.
\n7,0 % reste i aff\u00e4rssyfte.<\/p>\n
